Asim Jamil, son of renowned Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil, passed away

Conversing with Dawn.com, Multan Provincial Cop (RPO) Sohail Chaudhry said Asim "shot himself in the chest" in an exercise center at his home. "As indicated by the family, Asim ended it all," the RPO said. Chaudhry further said the police had procured CCTV film that "affirms he should be visible shooting himself in the chest". "We are sending the recording for measurable examination," he added.

In the interim, the Punjab police proclamation said Controller General of Police (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar considered the occurrence and looked for a report from the Multan RPO. IGP Anwar said the definitive reason for death ought "not entirely set in stone in that frame of mind of proof and criminological report". The police proclamation added that the Khanewal area cop and other senior work force were available on the scene and proof had been gathered.

Public Gathering Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf stretched out his sympathies and fortitude to the deprived family.
