  • Stay indoors if possible. If you must go outside, dress warmly in layers and wear a hat, gloves, and scarf.
  • Be careful driving in winter weather conditions. Allow extra time to reach your destination and slow down on snow-covered roads.
  • Shovel snow safely. Take breaks often and lift with your legs, not your back.
  • Be aware of the dangers of hypothermia and frostbite. If you experience any of the symptoms, seek medical attention immediately

  • Use a space heater to warm up individual rooms.
  • Dress in layers and wear a hat, gloves, and scarf when you're indoors.
  • Drink plenty of warm liquids and eat hot meals.
  • Stay active to keep your blood flowing.
